Excellent Source to Support Your Research

RM257 is a diacrylate reactive mesogen used in liquid crystal elastomer and liquid crystal polymer networks, in thiol-acrylate formulations, and in UV-cured alignment and 4D-printing studies. Whether it suits a given network depends on the formulation, the alignment method and the cure, and is confirmed in your own system.

Samples are available for evaluation before a first order. Tell us the quantity, the intended formulation and the documents you need — a specification sheet, a safety data sheet, a recent certificate of analysis — and we confirm against the current lot what can be supplied and on what lead time.

RM257 and RM82 are the C3 and C6 homologues of the same mesogenic core — a propoxy spacer here, a hexyloxy spacer on RM82 — and the spacer length is what separates them in transition temperature and in the stiffness of the cured network. They are not interchangeable: the choice follows the phase behaviour and the actuation the network has to deliver. See RM82 reactive mesogen, CAS 125248-71-7.
